This is the state final of a public speaking competition which is open to all NSW government primary schools, with over 1,000 students submitting speeches in 2020 despite the delays and changes necessitated by COVID-19. For the first time in the 25-year history of the competition this final was held online, with the ten speakers presenting both a 3 minute prepared speech on multicultural themes and a 1 minute impromptu speech on an unseen topic following just 5 minutes of preparation time. Congratulations to all the students who reached this final and to everyone who took part in the competition this year, and a final thanks to the Multicultural Team of the NSW Department of Education without whose support this competition would not be possible.
